I'm curious -- what's the strike price, and what is listed as the date for the grant? (I got some options too in 2000, though not quite as much , and I'm also reasonably sure I'm not important enough to be backdated. So if I also got the low price for the year, that either means (a) I'm really lucky or (b) whoever picks these dates is just really, really skilled.

We'll have a chance to see what the world thinks of Apple's option activity. One might reasonably postulate that if Apple admits to backdating, Pixar did it as well.
Meanwhile, how nice of Depp/Bruckheimer/Verbinski et. al. to give patient Pixar investors a little gift. I haven't sold anything, yet.

Iwork- The price I have as Lasseter's exercise price is $26.50. This is not the lowest price of the year but is likely the lowest CLOSING price for 2000; I only have weekly data in my Excel files. I can't get records or SEC filings for Pixar since it was sold, so I don't know the date; I am working from only those files I happen to have copied to my hard drive before Pixar was sold. I have multiple objections to this practice, not the least of them being not all employees are treated the same in this regard. Only the shirts in the executive offices get cut this slack. By the nature of my field, I don't believe in coincidences. Just watched Incredibles again; Mirage does indeed look 'expensive'. Is Pixar moving ahead with physical plant expansion?? Obviously, answer only if it is in safe ethical ground.

greykite- Haven't sold any either. Am trying to juggle my accounts to buy more Apple; haven't sold any of that either. Still like FSL.

Now we know that both Apple and Pixar were backdating options. One could believe that Jobs was not involved in the practice at Apple (compensation is handled by an independent compensation board), but adding Pixar to the mix makes it seem unlikely Jobs was unaware.
This is the biggest risk (other than Jobs' premature death, as was a concern two years ago) I have seen on Apple's horizon, and I don't like it.
