Any ideas behind protracted downward movement of DIS? Approaching serious oversold levels at $27.34 DIS went down on a couple of large up days which leads me to believe that we are experiencing a large institutional sell program, which means they know something we don't. Still expecting a push to $29-31 before the third week in July. Lastly someone posted on PIXR board that stock transfer would be complete in 23 days. What was that date? Thanks in Advance, MW

Might be that TCW is dumping the remainder of its Pixar shares. If so, it should show up as an SEC file in the near future.

I finally unloaded my DIS after watching for months their inability to go above 30. Of course, 1 day later they did and even hit 30.50.(which makes me feel responsible, LOL) You all got me addicted to trading AAPL. After my 53.26 buy I bought again at 52 something and ended up with 400 shares before the parabolic rise which I sold at 65, keeping 60 shares. Sold all the DIS and bought 1000 AAPL outright at 72.08. Based on next years numbers 2.61-2.81 X 30. I think the stock is worth 81-84. Amazing what is going on in the Mac sales. Thank you all for recomending this stock.

I exited Apple briefly over concern about options backdating, then watched Apple start it's current run. I jumped back in, but let quite a bit of appreciation get away from me. These days it seems like Apple's competitors are self destructing. HP's boardroom fiasco, Dell's inability to cut costs from it's bony structure while people are renewing their interest in touching before they buy. Sony going up in flames.
I never thought I'd invest in Apple because the rest of the world was incompetent, but that's the way it seems today.

You should look at selling some of the AAPL Jan 07 calls. With the quick runup, there is a nice premium. In this case, I believe time will be your friend. At some point AAPL will begin trading sideways and that premium will go away and you can buy back the call. I sold some 85's and 90's.
As for DIS, the Jan 08 calls are beginning to look good. This little run they are on should push those over $1. At that point I would sell some. Once again, time would be your friend as DIS has a long history of trading sideways for some time.

I'm holding DIS through holiday 07 I think (with major DVDs, merchandise, etc.).
Do folks seeing '08 being solid as well? Theme parks up? Pirates sequel and Pixar movie in summer as good as this years?
Or drift sideways in '08?

Being one of the bigger dissenters of the Pixar buyout, I have to admit that Disney has done quite well this year. I think Holiday 07 will be very good to them. I believe that 07 will carry into 08 and, at least through the summer, Disney will continue to inch up. After summer 07, that will depend on the Disney movie performance. Which, I believe, has the 3rd Pirates. It's amazing what a $1B+ movie can do for a company. Even one Disney's size.
I had planned on selling some DIS Jan 08 $40 calls. However, I do not believe (at this point) the premium is worth it, as I am expecting DIS to hit $40 by Jul - Aug. I expect DIS to have a very good quarter. I'll wait and see what options spring up for Jan 08. Maybe they'll add some 42.50 and 45's.
